YOGA with BILL WOOD

 

A yoga teacher since 1994, Bill runs weekly classes - in person and online - as well as teaching workshops and retreats all around the UK.While influenced by many different yoga and meditation traditions, his main inspiration has been the teachings of the late Vanda Scaravelli, and he continues to study with Sandra Sabatini, one of her longest standing students.

This way of practising isn’t so much a ‘style’ of yoga as an invitation to discover for ourselves a more natural and easeful way of working with our body.

A way of unwinding more fully and freely into our practice, using less strain or force, that takes us away from the external pursuit of physical shapes, and shows us instead how to find the right internal qualities for our body to start releasing and realigning for itself.

Journey
A journey that nurtures more of a balance within us between strength and flexibility, vitality and relaxation, lightness and groundedness, to free up our postural habits and breathing patterns, and to keep nourishing our ability to feel more comfortable in our own skin.

Mindfulness
Practising yoga can then become as much a form of mindfulness as it is a physical exercise. A form of meditative movement, guided less by thought and more by what we can feel, that teaches us how to be more present and in-touch with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.

Spaces can be reserved with a deposit or, if the classes aren’t full by then, you could come along in September to try one out!
